Bielsa...

Difficult to disagree with that Daz, but after watching us all season and watching this dross I am slowly falling out of love with our great game.

It's since big finance got involved.
Any sort of risk is to be avoided. They even rubbed out promotion and relegation in some sports in America.
Some on here are unhappy with our new shirt sponsor as it promotes gambling which can be addictive.
But football is now being hijacked because it is an addiction.
If I called for one Premier match to be boycotted every week by fans I woud be laughed at because we
all know that addiction would win out.

Sadly it is both tradition and addiction possibly your a sad man if you do or you don't........... l love football as a whole ( which has been sorely tested as of late) but Leicester City is IT

The "it's all about results" brigade miss one important fact.
If you look at 10 min youtube highlights or just the scores at 5pm on a Saturday (yes i know, it aint like that now) from the comfort of your armchair, a win is a win.
But if you have to travel any distance through rain and shine and then sit through 90 mins of mind numbing shite week in week out, it cannot be just about the result.

There is no promotion or relegation in any of the major sports leagues in the US - Football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, none of them.

However, they do each have a draft system which, each season, gives the prior seasons worst Teams the first pick at the crop of up-and-coming college players, which is intended to promote equality.

Soccer is the closest to considering promotion. It is at least being talked about.

I think part of the problem with watching England is that I have a different outlook when I am watching the City. Of course it’s always best if ‘your’ team smashes the opposition and is hugely entertaining, but when I’m watching the City it is all about results and I am ‘reasonably’ tolerant of us playing poorly as long as we win. In fact it can be positively funny if we play rubbish but somehow sneak a win against an obviously better team.

However I just don’t think like that when watching England. I vaguely ‘want’ England to win, but I’m not that fussed if they lose .. but I much more want to be ‘entertained’ by good players playing well and I just find it infuriating when they play badly or don’t provide that ‘entertainment’ .. even if in the end they win or ‘sneak through’.

Funny old game.

Not really. Leicester are usually at a big disadvantage competing against the BCCs because of lesser resources but that is far from the case for the England national team. They've stuttered to a 1-0 win over Serbia then failed to win inside 90 minutes in games against Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia and Switzerland whilst playing the most mind numbingly boring brand of football imaginable.
