Biden Inauguration

Been watching the speech Kennedy gave on his Inauguration Day. It was one of the best.

Regardless of your views on Biden, it is an historic day.

Joe may do well to heed the words of JFK, which were never spoken. November 22nd 1963, in Dallas his last paragraph at the Trade Mart would have been:

We in this country, in this generation, are, by destiny rather than choice, the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of "peace on earth, goodwill toward men." That must always be our goal, and the righteousness of our cause must always underlie our strength. For as was written long ago, "except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."

Wasn't exactly a speech to heal any divisions. He could for instance have said violent demonstrations on either side or perhaps that in future the courts and not the social media barons, whose technology has done more to polarise opinions than anything else, should be the ones to decide on who can speak and about what.

Just watched the inauguration, I was most impressed.
You keep rattling on the same theme jackie, sad keyboarder.

I think he might have had a limited time so maybe couldn't cover every issue. Send him an email to let him know your thoughts on his speech.

Do you really think that. He read out a prepared speech (not Kinnock"s this time though) and I believe it could have said something more to try and mend the divides. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you could say why.. ain't that what the forum should be about?

JFK is over rated

So refreshing to hear the POTUS make a speech showing concern about the country and its people rather than himself
