Banning kids playing rugby and boxing

That's the latest Woke shite being pushed by the media, back by a Cambridge professor who talks out of his arse for money.

My brother in law has played Rugger for years, won't let his son play anything but Touch Rugger, he reckons there's far too many head injuries.

Tony Bellow mentioned on I'm a celebrity that he knew he would have brain problems later in life due to the number of punches he had taken to the head. He knew this was a part of boxing but made the decision to go ahead anyway.

Perhaps kids aren't mature enough to make the decision as to whether or not they should take such a risk at a young age.
As adults they can make that decision.

Alan Shearer has commented before about the number of footballers suffering because of how many times they head a ball in their careers, I'd imagine that Rugger and Boxing are potentially a lot more dangerous.

They should ban rugby altogether. It would save a lot of boys getting sexually abused in the name of fun and a good ole drinking game.

At what age should they be allowed to make the decision to play.

It is a sad fact that we can't protect our children from every eventuality, there are loads of children that play games like rugby who don't suffer long term injuries I suppose we have to balance these things up

Alan Shearer had a bad foot injury after colliding with Neil Lennon's head

So it's better that kids stay in home all day and play reality games instead of real games. That'll breed a real good strong population, what's wrong with "if it don't kill you it makes you stronger". ffs.

What about climbing trees, rugby's first then it will be all sports that are not on a computer.

This weak race will die out.

Lets make every kid a fanny so these soft lefty clowns can feel comfy and warm !!!

I take my dog to my local rec twice a day. It's a child free zone these days. No kid in their right mind will go out & have fun with his/her mates in 2024.

My lad plays rugby (7 years old) and it's great both in terms of team sport and meeting other kids out of his little bubble.

I played for years but at a lower level. 3rd team stuff. Basically a load of slow fatties colliding at little pace. I miss it no end.

I wouldn't want him playing any sort of level though. The risks at the very social level are small. I got two cracks on the head in 15 years. As soon as you play first team club rugby and above the risks magnify. Then when you reach the really top level the tackling technique is streets ahead but countered by the speed of the game putting the risks up a level again.

Seems to be like we're only just starting to see the result of rugby going pro. The massive increase in workload, technique, bulk, training, etc looks like it's going to wreak a terrible price on many, as recent victims like Steve Thompson are beginning to indicate.
