You were just a little premature with your post. Here’s the League One season which could have been the highest goal difference we’ve ever had.

The only other contender I can think of was last time we won this league in 13-14 where we came up shorter than we have today.

That’s in my living memory.

That’s in my living memory.

I simply didn't know Daggers hence the question rather than stating a fact.
It would be something of a major surprise if we didn't better that League 1 season given our current position with our GD.

I don’t know either. I just looked at these two seasons this morning off the back of your question.

There may be others too that I’m unaware of but certainly not at this stage of a season.

I doubt that in our history we have ever had a points ratio like we have now so deep into the season, which would point to this being our most dominant season ever.
We need 25pts from 14 games to beat that 13-14 season.
Very doable unless we take the foot off if/when we are promoted.

So in 1970/1 when we won the old division 2, after 42 games (22 clubs in those days) we won just 23 matches. Scored only 57 goals vs 30 conceded. That was with THE great Peter Shilton in goal too. So that’s 82 points if we say 3 points/win.
We are a country mile ahead of those stats.
