This has been a very positive thread which, you might be surprised to hear, actually cheers me up.

I still have many serious doubts about the whole electric car project, social, fiscal and political but this will resolve itself in time, one way or another.

As Adumass says, EV vehicles are on the agenda of virtually every government in the world so it looks to be happening and it will bring massive changes to our way of life.
