New Plot

I am about to embark on a new plot, having given up the previous one I tended for more than 20 years, although it fills me with some apprehension I am looking forward to the challenge.
The plot has been tended previously and is in decent nick, so does anyone have any suggestions where to begin as its twice the size of my previous plot and I'm unsure of what to plant or do first ?

Thanks Soho, I understand the rotation concept but was more wondering just which area to attack first ? Think it may have to be the potato bed possibly ?

Spuds to start. They break up the soil.
Then peas and beans.
And courgettes.
And onions. And beetroots.
Then cabbages, kale, broccoli, cauliflower.
And carrots and parsnips.

Start again. Yep , either way you choose , I did it first with a pumpkin, works just as well because of the large leaves keeping the weeds down.
